Membership in Crawford is open to attorneys in both private and public practice, non-attorneys meet the definitions provided below for associate membership, law students and members of the judiciary.

Types of Membership

Membership in Crawford consists of two classes, Regular Membership and Associate Membership.

Regular Members shall be any person who is a member in good standing of any bar.

Associate Members shall be any of the following persons:

  1.  A person who is currently enrolled in a law school or who has graduated from a law school and has not been admitted to practice before any state or federal court;
  2. A legal assistant qualified through education, training or work experience, who is not admitted to practice law before any state or federal court, and who is employed or retained in Connecticut, by a lawyer, law office, corporate law department, governmental agency or other entity engaged in the practice of law, under the ultimate direction and supervision of an attorney; and
  3. A person who has a professional degree, or not less than two years experience, in the field of legal administration, who is not admitted to practice law before any state or federal court, and who is employed or retained in Connecticut, by a lawyer, law office, corporate law department, governmental agency or other entity engaged in the practice of law.

Membership in Crawford provides valuable benefits.  Crawford members receive discounted registration at all Crawford-sponsored events; are eligible to participate on Crawford committees; members with regular membership only are eligible to participate in the leadership of Crawford; all members have access to valuable information in the “Members-Only” section of this website, which is visible after you have completed membership and website registration; members with regular membership may elect to be included in our membership referral listing page; and all members join a rich network of talented attorneys, law students and judges spanning throughout Connecticut.
