For 48 years, the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association ("Crawford") has led the legal community through collective action. 

 

The George W. Crawford Black Bar Association cordially invites you to our 2025 Annual Dinner - "Serving the Mission"

The Annual Dinner will take place at the Hartford Marriott Downtown on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and this year we are excited to honor Attorney Janai Nelson, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund with the Trailblazer Award, and Attorney Erick Russell, Connecticut State Treasurer, with the Visionary Award.

Attire: Both business professional and black-tie attire are welcome.

Crawford will also be awarding its second Rising Leader Award and we would like you to submit nominations to Vice President, Zoe Russell at VicePresident@georgecrawfordblackbar.org no later than March 15, 2025 with the name, title, and employer of the person you are nominating (self-nominations are welcome) and a brief description of the individual’s qualifications for the award.

Criteria for Rising Leader Award:

In order to be eligible, an awardee must:

(1) have graduated law school 10 or less years ago;
(2) practice in or be born in the state of Connecticut;
(3) otherwise have some significant connection to the state of Connecticut;
(4) be a member, in good standing, of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association; and
(5) have shown leadership through their professional, volunteer, and civic accomplishments.
